This week's meeting was a dining and professional event etiquette workshop! Leading up to our biggest event of the semester, Dining with the Distinguished, we had a short presentation on dining etiquette, business professional attire and networking do's and don'ts. Students had the chance to prepare and learn as much about our event as possible while also learning valuable networking tips and tricks for the future!
This week, the E-Board decided to hold office hours, introducing all our members to the valuable career-focused resources we have available. Resources such as cold email templates, networking trackers, sample networking questions and many others were presented by the E-board, followed by open office hours for resume reviews, practicing elevator pitches, general career and academic advice and much more.
In the second installment of our Interviewing Workshop, we discussed how to ace our interview! Our E-Board presented on the types of questions students would face and how to be well-prepared for them. We discussed behavioral and technical questions respective to each RBS major, and the best ways to present answers. We ended the night with a fun jeopardy game answering questions regarding professional etiquette, technical knowledge and more!
This week, we hosted a Interviewing Workshop for our students, and the presentation from our E-board included essential insights on how to build and connect with your network, utilize it for interviews and prepare to succeed at them. The presentation included details on interviewing etiquette and the importance of following up with your prospective employers. We ended the night with some elevator pitch tips, and an interactive session of practicing how to nail the perfect elevator pitch!
We were delighted to host Candice Tse, Managing Director and Global Head of Strategic Advisory Solutions at Goldman Sachs for this week's virtual Speaker Event! Students had to opportunity to ask questions and receive invaluable insights from Ms. Tse regarding entering the industry, ways to ensure success in it as college students and her work at Goldman Sachs. We are so grateful that she chose to share her advice and knowledge with us, and hope to host more such exciting events soon!
We are so grateful to recently host our Kearney x FBLA Speaker Event featuring Robert Haas, Senior Partner and Board Director at Kearney! Mr. Haas provided meaningful insights to our students about his experience with private equity and the consulting industry, along with the major disruptors in the industry today. We also received invaluable advice on the skills to master in college to excel in the workforce, and had the opportunity to ask questions regarding his journey into Kearney!
We were happy to host our Happy Hour Professional Night, where we welcomed students, alumni, and industry professionals for fine-dining and networking. We hosted individuals working in finance, accounting, consulting, and supply chain management. Sarah Mohammed and Srishti Sen spearheaded planning for the event alongside the events committee. Remarks were given by our President and the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Experience.
We were proud to recently host our Distinguished Leadership in Finance Speaker Event, featuring Joshua Frost, the United States Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Markets! Frost was nominated by President Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2022. Frost helps formulate policy on federal debt management, financial market oversight & regulation, and federal credit as well as privatization. Moderated by Professor Joseph Shatz, Frost joined us from Washington D.C. to discuss his day-to-day at the U.S. Treasury and provide high-level insights into the global financial marketplace. Dean Lei of the Rutgers Business School and Michael Shalonov, our President, provided opening remarks.
